Am I eligible for this software?
Students
Under the DreamSpark usage guidelines, only students taking courses in the ECE Department (with an ECE prefix) may download DreamSpark software. Students who are electrical or computer engineering majors but are not currently enrolled in at least one ECE class are not eligible to download DreamSpark software. This includes students who are currently participating in Co-op and students who do not take summer courses. The students may, however, continue to use previously downloaded software.
Students enrolled in courses for other Engineering departments should check this site, http://www.eos.ncsu.edu/soc/support/dreamspark, to see if a DreamSpark webstore is available from that department.
Faculty and Staff
Departmental faculty and staff who are involved with teaching an ECE course are eligible to download DreamSpark software for *personal* computers.
Usage of Downloaded Software
Software downloaded from ECEs DreamSpark webstore is for the support of teaching and non-commercial research. They should only be installed on a user's personal machines. Students, faculty and staff may not download and use software for other non-eligible users.
Important Dates
Access is activated two business days after the start of a new academic semester, and de-activated the Monday after the end of exams. Access will not be provided early, nor will it be extended after de-activation.
Specific dates for activation and de-activation of accounts are now available as an announcement on ECE's DreamSpark webstore.
What is ELMS®?
ELMS (e-academy License Management System) is a software distribution web site that each Program Administrator can tailor to his/her department's needs. ELMS is offered as a free member benefit to DreamSpark member departments worldwide, so no additional fees apply in order to use it.
This program makes it possible for the ECE Department to distribute DreamSpark software to its students with minimal effort and expense.
