Teaching Labs/1032 EB2
EB II West 1032- Mechatronics Lab
EB II 1032, the Mechatronics Lab, is primarily used by ECE 456, Mechatronics, classes. This lab is full of equipment to help any mechatronics student. Eight of the workstations contain a computer, a flat panel monitor, oscilloscope, function generator, digital multimeter, and a power supply, with enough room for two partners to work together at. Two other workstations contain a computer for a group of two. There are 2 large tables in the center of the room for students to expand their workstation or work together in larger groups.
Mechatronics is the study of electro-mechanical systems controlled by microcomputer technology. ECE 456 emphasizes the theory, design, and implementation of smart systems and the creation of closely coupled and integrated products and systems. Students will also be expected to synergistically integrate things like mechanics, information technology, microcontrollers and other components. These classes will also become familiar with Interactive C, software unique to the Mechatronics Lab.
