WINDOWS

Machine registered as .ece.ncsu.edu. You should start receiving your IP after the next hourly DNS update.

Please be sure that the machine is patched with all critical updates from www.windowsupdate.com. To ensure regular patching, you can set up your machine to receive updates from our WSUS server. Directions for setting this up can be found at http://www.wolftech.ncsu.edu/support/support/Active_Directory/Documentation/WSUS#How_to_Manually_Configure_Your_Personal_Computer.

Also, if you do not already have an antivirus program, you can download Trend Micro OfficeScan from http://oit.ncsu.edu/antivirus/. University policy requires that all machines on the network have antivirus protection.

MAC

University policy requires that all machines on the network have antivirus protection, and you can download Intego VirusBarrier X5 for OS X at http://oit.ncsu.edu/antivirus/. Also, please be sure to keep your machine up to date with patches and updates through Software Update.
