WINDOWS

Machine registered as .ece.ncsu.edu. You should start receiving your IP after 10 am tomorrow.

Please be sure that the machine is patched with all critical updates from www.windowsupdate.com. To ensure regular patching, you can set up your machine to receive updates from our WSUS server. Directions for setting this up can be found at http://www.wolftech.ncsu.edu/support/support/Active_Directory/Documentation/WSUS#How_to_Manually_Configure_Your_Personal_Computer.

Also, if you do not already have an antivirus program, you can download Symantec Antivirus from www.ncsu.edu/antivirus/downloads/. University policy requires that all machines on the network have antivirus protection. You may also wish to download Windows Defender from www.microsoft.com to protect against spyware/malware.

Mac is registered as .ece.ncsu.edu. Should start receiving an IP after 10am tomorrow.

University policy requires that all machines on the network have antivirus protection, and you can download Norton Antivirus 10 for OS X at www.ncsu.edu/antivirus/downloads/. Also, please be sure to keep your machine up to date with patches and updates through Software Update.
