If you know that you are in range of a wireless access point but are unable to obtain a wireless connection follow these steps to connect. If you know that you are in range of a wireless access point but are unable to obtain a wireless connection, right-click on the wireless connection icon in the system tray (it looks like two computers next to each other). Then click on "View Available Wireless Connections." Place a check in the box labeled "Allow me to connect to the selected network, even though it is not secure." Then click the connect button. Also, if everybody around you is able to connect, yet you aren't, try adjusting the angle of the screen or the position of your laptop on your desk. The wireless antennas are built in to the LCD housing, so also make sure not to cover the sides of it with your hands.
