ITD Systems has announced that starting on Wednesday, October 15th, [2003] individual messages that are sent to more than 300 email addresses at once will be blocked at the campus send-mail relays before they are sent.

The new restriction is in response to the rise in email attacks originating from virus infected and other compromised computers on campus.

Campus email list services will not be affected by this restriction. NC State faculty, staff, graduate students, and student organizations may use the Majordomo list server for mass mailings to more than 300 addresses. To create a Majordomo mailing list, go to http://lists.ncsu.edu and select "Request a List."
