Creating bookmarks
- Make sure your current page is the page you want to bookmark
- Open the Bookmarks menu
- Click Bookmark This Page...
- In the Name textbox, type in the name of the bookmark
- To put it in a folder:
- Click the blue arrow pointing down
- Note: All subfolders are listed here as regular folders
- Click on the white arrow pointing down
- Click the blue arrow pointing down
Creating multiple bookmarks
- Note: When you create multiple bookmarks, they will be put in a folder
- To create multiple bookmarks at the same time, have all your windows tabbed
- To tab the windows, hit Ctrl + T and when the new tab pops up, open another web site
- Open the Bookmarks menu
- Click on Bookmark All Tabs...
- Another option is to just press Ctrl + Shift + D when you pull up the web sites you want to bookmark
- In the Name textbox, type in the name of the folder the bookmarks will go in
- To put it in a folder:
- Click the blue arrow pointing down
- Note: All subfolders are listed here as regular folders
- Click on the white arrow pointing down
- Double-Click on the folder name you want to put the folder in
- If there is a subfolder, it will show up once you double-click on the folder name
- Double-Click on a subfolder if you want to put the folder in it
- Continue repeating the previous 3 steps until you get the folder you are looking for
- Click Ok
- Click the blue arrow pointing down
Alphabetizing your bookmarks
- Open the Bookmarks menu
- Highlight any web site or folder below Manage Bookmarks...
- Right click on that folder or web site
- Choose Sort by Name at the bottom of the list
- Note: The Folders will be organized alphabetically, and the websites will be organized alphabetically below all the folders. If you'd like to have them organized any other way, read below.
To create a folder
- Open the Bookmarks menu
- Highlight any web site or folder below Manage Bookmarks...
- Right click on that folder or web site
- Choose New Folder...
- In the Name textbook, type in the name of the folder
- Click Ok
- Choose Manage Bookmarks...
- Make sure you are in the folder you want to make the new subfolder in
- Click the New Folder... button
- In the Name textbox, type in the name of the folder
- Click Ok
- When you are finished, close the window
To move a web site or folder into a folder
- Open the Bookmarks menu
- Choose Manage Bookmarks...
- Highlight the web site or folder you would like to move
- Click on the Move... button
- Double-Click on the folder name you want to put the folder in
- If there is a subfolder, it will show up once you double-click on the folder name
- Double-Click on a subfolder if you want to put the folder in it
- Continue repeating the previous 3 steps until you get the folder you are looking for
- Click Ok
- When you are finished, close the window
To rename a bookmark/folder
- Open the Bookmarks menu
- Choose Manage Bookmarks...
- Highlight the web site or folder you would like to rename
- Click on the Rename button
- In the Name textbox, type in the new name of the bookmark or folder
- Click Ok
- When you are finished, close the window
To delete a bookmark
- Open the Bookmarks menu
- Choose Manage Bookmarks...
- Highlight the web site or folder you would like to delete
- Click the Delete button
- When you are finished, close the window
- Warning: Once you hit the delete button, the web site or folder is gone. Make absolutely sure you want to delete it.
- Warning: If you delete a folder, it will delete all bookmarks and folders within the folder
To organize them any other way
- Open the Bookmarks menu
- Click Manage Bookmarks...
- Highlight the website you want to move
- Click and hold that website
- Move it up or down to where you want it
- Repeat process until you have the list as you want organized
- When you are finished, close the window
To create a separator
- A separator is the highlighted line in the picture below
- Open the Bookmarks menu
- Click Manage Bookmarks...
- Click the New Separator button
- Click and drag the separator to its desired position
- When you are finished, close the window
