New Windows Updates Released

Microsoft has released new updates to its Windows operating systems. In accordance with our update policy, these updates will be approved for installation on ECEW2K and WOLFTECH domain computers tomorrow, <DATE>.
These updates will result in a reboot. Any user wishing to avoid the automatic reboot must manually install the updates and reboot their computer before the scheduled installation. Only computers that have not already installed the updates and rebooted will reboot.
The reboots will occur tomorrow, according the following schedule:
- Teaching Lab Computers: 11:00 PM
- Research Computers: 3:00 PM
- Faculty Computers: 4:00 PM
- Staff Computers: 8:00 PM

All personal computers that have been issued an IP address on the NCSU network must install these updates manually, or can be configured to automatically receive updates from ECE's WindowsUpdate server. For instructions on configuring your personal computer to use our update server, see:
